About The Position

Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company, a subsidiary of Energy Transfer, is seeking an Operations Manager that is a self-motivated individual with a high regard for safety and integrity. This individual will oversee personnel performing pipeline and plant operations and maintenance activities, while furthering the continual development and strengthening of our safety culture, adherence to all Partnership policies and procedures, and operate within the budget constraints set forth annually by the Partnership. This position may be located at the Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company facility located in Tuscola, IL or Montezuma, IN. The position will report directly to the Director of Operations Glenarm area. This role has a current pay range of $110,000 – $160,000. The listed pay range represents the company’s good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base rate of pay for this position at the time of this posting. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their work location, qualifications, relevant experience, operational needs, demonstrated performance over time, and internal pay alignment. Requirements

  • High School diploma or bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years industry experience required for this position.
  • Proficient use with Microsoft Office software products.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Sound mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply information in operating and equipment manuals.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise pipeline and plant personnel in performing their job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Administer performance reviews for subordinates and administer disciplinary action when warranted.
  • Attend and facilitate Safety meetings and be an active leader in developing and maintaining our desired safety culture.
  • Supervision of pipeline and plant operations and maintenance activities through the direction of the Director of Operations.
  • Provide guidance to resolve operational problems as required. Work unified with shared service departments to maintain consistency with all areas of business and maximize benefits of all departments.
  • Assures the work group has the resources and information to make informed decisions regarding the day-to-day operation of facilities in compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • Support of capital and expense projects through project commissioning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and manage expense budget to operate and maintain the facilities at an appropriate cost and perform budget reforecasting as appropriate.
  • Knowledgeable of emergency plans and procedures to direct prompt and appropriate action in an event.
  • Knowledgeable of 49 CFR 192 and pipeline/facility construction, maintenance and operation.
  • Provide recommendations for system operational improvements through submission of capital and expense projects as part of the annual budgeting process.
  • Prepare pipeline shutout procedures to prepare system for project execution and ensure safe working environment for internal and external crews.
  • Support and assist with all EHS training activities, updates and compliance with EHS policies and procedures.
  • Provide supervisory relief in various areas in the event of a pipeline emergency or business need.
  • Serves as the first line of management contact for customers, landowners, and the public. Assures any issues identified by these groups are conveyed to management and/or addresses them locally.
  • On-Call 24/7 for emergencies or operational assistance
