Buckeye Partners is seeking a Manager, Operations with 10+ years’ experience in field operations in the Oil & Gas Industry. The role's summary is to assure safe, reliable, and environmentally conscious operations in compliance with Company mission, policy, and direction. Primary job responsibilities include managing day-to-day activities of assigned Asset Team locations and ensuring financial accountability for the assigned area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 10+ years’ experience in field operations required.
  • 5+ years in pipeline operations required.
  • Significant technical troubleshooting experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge and ability to analyze and solve both personnel and pipeline operational problems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Leadership abilities.
  • Ability to promote the team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to environmental responsibility and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and professionalism when dealing with internal and external customers, and when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Compliance with all personnel policies.
  • Meet medical criteria established by OSHA for emergency response.
  • Subject to DOT drug and alcohol regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and manage daily operations schedule. Assure safe operations by insisting on subordinate compliance with company safety and training policies.
  • Assure reliability of pipeline and terminal assets by timely maintenance in compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Ensure representation at appropriate Public Awareness Programs to help prevent third party damage.
  • Assure environmental consciousness by compliance with policy to prevent any environmental contamination and by preparing for pipeline or terminal emergencies via training of work force and education of potential public emergency responders. As required, act as Incident Commander and as company representative in the event of a pipeline or terminal emergency.
  • Assure efficient operations by developing economical responsibility expense and ordinary capital budgets and controlling expenses via efficient operations and maintenance within these limitations. Report on variances as required. Audit field operations and maintenance and correct deficiencies and work continually to improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist in the capital and expense projects within responsibility from inception through construction to turnover and operations.
  • Request support as deemed necessary from the District Work Team on operational objectives and immediate needs to the Asset Team. This includes performing tasks that may be outside a normal area of expertise or responsibility. Assist in the planning and execution of projects cooperatively between the Asset Team and the District Work Team.
  • Act as company spokesperson to shippers and the public. Be a leader and a promoter of change nurturing favorable employee culture.
  • Ensure loss/gain is properly monitored and any discrepancies resolved promptly.
  • Support project related work including developing and reviewing scopes of work, submitting and approving bids, performing purchasing and order management.
  • Support and manage efforts related to employee development, coaching and training.
  • Lead Asset Team to high performance certification.
  • Support other projects or other requests as needed.
  • And other duties as assigned.
