The Manager, Operations and Security focuses on aiding all aspects of match day operations League-wide, including but not limited to match operations and stadium operations. In addition, they will assist in the planning, coordination, and logistics of league special competitions, such as international matches and/or tournaments.

  • Foster relationships with each member club's Operational and Administrative leadership/primary points of contact.
  • Directly liaise with Club operations and security staff on League policies.
  • Assist with onboarding of new Clubs into the League.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with clubs.
  • Assist in the League schedule change process.
  • Coordinate match notices and referee assignments with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage weekly club submissions Post Match Safety Reports.
  • Manage weekly internal League reports.
  • Lead Match Observer Program administration, pre-season training, manual updates and schedule assignment.
  • Assist in tracking and auditing MLS NEXT Pro rules via Match Observer Program.
  • Maintain accurate database and reporting of ejection/arrest discipline tracking throughout the season.
  • Assist with MLS NEXT security and operations for MLS NEXT events: NEXT FEST, GA Cup, NEXT FLEX, NEXT Cup, MLS NEXT All-Star Game.
  • Quickly generate reports when league minimum standards are not met and maintained.
  • Assist clubs with coordinating information sharing and safety procedures around visiting club supporter travel.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management or related field
  • 5+ years of work experience
  • Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Deep knowledge and interest in Major League Soccer, MLS NEXT, and MLS NEXT Pro, our teams, players and rules
  • Assertive proactive thinker and problem solver
  • Superior organizational skills and project management skills
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain high levels of confidentiality
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • Knowledge of FIFA, USSF & CSA rules and practice
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred (oral and preferred written)
  • Professional demeanor with administrative support background preferred
  • Keen understanding of the sport of soccer
