About The Position

The Manager, Operations coordinates and oversees the day-to-day management of a distribution department. They manage daily activities and develop both short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure the facility and organization meet their goals and objectives. They also perform other related duties, special projects, or assignments as required. The schedule for this opportunity is, Sun 6:30 PM–5:00 AM, Mon-Wed 5:00 PM-3:30 AM.

  • Ability to work closely with various departments, including technology teams, to improve systems and processes that boost productivity and service levels.
  • Expertise in using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access) to manage reports, analyze data, and track performance metrics.
  • Demonstrates integrity and builds trust through transparency and open, continuous communication with teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to think creatively and implement new strategies or processes that improve efficiency, quality, and service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the distribution department, ensuring goals and targets are met or exceeded while coaching and counseling direct reports.
  • Generate reports for management to track department performance and progress.
  • Ensure departments meet or exceed performance metrics in areas such as safety, shortage control, cost management, quality, processing standards, flexibility, reliability, customer service, and execution of plans.
  • Deliver presentations to the retail division and senior management as needed.
  • Identify, develop, and implement short- and long-term strategies to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency across operations.
  • Continuously analyze work processes to identify optimization opportunities and implement process improvements.
  • Cultivate a work culture focused on success and superior customer service.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and metrics to ensure customer service satisfaction levels are achieved.
  • Oversee all aspects of inventory control and ensure effective management.
  • Drive and manage changes associated with organizational growth.
  • Review activity, cost, operational, and forecast analyses to assess progress toward department goals and objectives.
  • Develop training programs and ensure staff comprehension and adherence.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by developing and enforcing safe work practices and ensuring compliance with AOSE and safety programs.
  • Collaborate with Macy’s Technology to refine and develop systems that improve operations, productivity, and service levels.
