Position Location: This position will be located at the Princeton, NJ US Headquarters site. Our Sandoz flexible hybrid working approach allows US office-based employees to work up to 50% of their monthly workday remotely. This role will not have the ability to be located remotely. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available for this role now or in the future. As we evolve, strengthening operational discipline and simplifying how we work is essential. The Manager, Operational Excellence will play a pivotal supporting role in enabling operational efficiency, strengthening governance, and ensuring disciplined execution across functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in operational excellence, continuous improvement, business analysis, consulting, PMO, or similar roles.
  • Experience supporting cross‑functional transformation, PMO, or change‑management activities.
  • Experience conducting process mapping, root‑cause analysis, and structured problem‑solving using data‑driven approaches.
  • Experience building dashboards, trackers, scorecards, or KPI reports to support operational visibility and performance management.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills, capable of managing multiple workstreams and deadlines in a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, executive‑ready communication for leadership forums.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pharmaceuticals, life sciences, healthcare, or regulated industries.
  • Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., Green Belt) is a plus.
  • Experience with digital workflow, process‑mapping, or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Signavio, Smartsheet, Visio, Miro, BPMN).

Responsibilities

  • Support assessments of end‑to-end North America processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Contribute to simplification and standardization efforts that reduce operational complexity and improve execution speed.
  • Support simple, fit‑for-purpose governance routines (e.g., calendars, dashboards, templates, action logs) to strengthen clarity and execution discipline.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional inputs for operational reviews, ensuring timely preparation and alignment across stakeholders.
  • Track initiative progress, risks, and follow‑ups to drive accountability and ensure closure of action items.
  • Develop and maintain performance tracking tools, scorecards, and reports to measure operational excellence outcomes.
  • Prepare clear, concise, executive‑ready materials to support decision‑making in governance and leadership forums.
  • Support high‑priority, cross‑functional projects aligned with company strategy and goals - including cost optimization, digital enablement, data transparency, and growth acceleration - by providing analysis, coordination, and execution support.
