About The Position

The position involves working closely with the Store Director and Department Managers to ensure effective merchandising, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and oversee features and displays. The role includes creating retail events to promote sales, ensuring fast and friendly checkouts, and maintaining customer satisfaction. The individual will act as a role model and leader, providing mentorship to employees and assisting with various human resource duties while supporting overall store operations.

Requirements

  • High-school diploma or equivalent; BA or BS in management-related field strongly desired.
  • Basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to use the Internet for product research and proficient typing skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform human resource duties, including recruiting new staff and maintaining personnel files according to labor laws.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is provided by all employees.
  • Maintain communication with all employees.
  • Recruit and assist Department Managers in team building and staff development.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee-related information.
  • Ensure proper floor coverage throughout the day.
  • Provide employees with necessary supplies and tools for customer service.
  • Carry out corrective action and progressive discipline as necessary.
  • Assist in payroll duties and maintain records of employee time cards.
  • Complete daily store rounds and delegate tasks.
  • Perform Store Director responsibilities in their absence.
  • Promote sales through store events and promotions.
  • Oversee incoming inventory and ensure timely stocking.
  • Ensure accurate pricing, signing, and in-stock of merchandise.
  • Maintain backroom organization and inventory checks.
  • Monitor low-in-stock and out-of-stock items.
  • Order store supplies as necessary.
  • Address facility maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain overall store cleanliness.
  • Balance tills and safe daily with accounting staff.
  • Schedule employee training sessions.
  • Maintain open communication with the Store Director.
  • Ensure departments operate according to standard procedures.
  • Step in any department to fulfill leadership or staffing gaps.
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethics in decision-making.
  • Uphold company policies and procedures.
  • Represent the company professionally.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
  • Work assigned and varying shifts as required.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Store Director.
