About The Position

The Manager on Duty at Jimbo's Natural Foods Grocer is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of the Store Manager, ensuring high-quality customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. This role involves supporting the Store Manager in achieving store goals, training new staff, and enforcing store policies while promoting a positive shopping atmosphere.

Requirements

• Proven leadership and team-building skills.
• Strong communication skills to motivate coworkers and communicate effectively.
• Intermediate math skills.
• Computer literacy with experience in Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to understand and enforce Department of Health regulations.
• Obtain a Food Handler's Certificate within 10 days of employment.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to travel and/or transfer to other store locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager and Department Managers by enforcing all store/department policies.
• Monitor staff breaks and minimize overtime.
• Support in training new staff members and provide input on employee evaluations.
• Utilize knowledge of store operations for opening/closing departments.
• Supervise daily operations and perform crisis-control measures.
• Display role model customer service and assist customers with inquiries.
• Respond promptly to customer assistance pages from various departments.
• Perform all opening and closing duties at the store and departmental level.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Communicate concerns and suggestions to the Store Manager.
• Document employee/customer incidents and complete required reports.
• Maintain overall security of the store and oversee equipment maintenance.
• Assist with key human resource functions and attend quarterly inventories.
• Attend scheduled department and all-store meetings.
• Know store layout/product location to assist customers.
