The Manager of Warehouse Operations for the Chicago Department of Aviation is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operations of a city warehouse. This role involves managing all personnel at the warehouse, including Ground Laborers and the MTD on STO 3 (Warehouse delivery truck). The manager will ensure that inventory is accurately maintained, including stock items, non-stock items, furniture, and records management/archives. Timely delivery of materials is crucial to maintain daily operations at O'Hare International Airport, and the manager will be accountable for all transactions related to purchasing, receipts, and issues. This position also requires adherence to the prompt payment initiative and effective management of contracts for the procurement of materials, utilizing the FMS and coordinating with the Contract Section and DPS. In addition to inventory management, the manager will log and enter all purchase orders, receipts, issues, and payments into the FMS (CDA purchasing program) and the City Works inventory program. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment is essential, and the manager will participate in committees that affect warehouse operations. The position is based at 11601 West Touhy, Building 891, Chicago, IL 60666, with working hours from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, although there may be a need to work late hours and some weekends due to operational needs.
