About The Position

Brown Advisory is seeking a dynamic individual to put our clients first as a Manager of Vendor Relations. The Operations Team is focused on building and managing a vendor management program that fosters partnerships beneficial to both our clients and the firm. This role involves establishing clear service level agreements with vendor partners, leading and strengthening relationships with key vendors, negotiating agreements to achieve strategic initiatives, and proactively identifying new services and opportunities for improved service levels. The Manager will utilize Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to measure service levels, recommend action plans, and implement continuous improvements. Additionally, the role includes establishing procurement procedures, collaborating with Accounting and Finance for vendor onboarding, overseeing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Masters/Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt positively to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential material with utmost discretion.
  • Experience with vendor management software(s).
  • Vendor contract negotiation experience.
  • Management and creation of vendor service level agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a vendor management program that fosters partnerships beneficial to both clients and the firm.
  • Establish and hold vendor partners to clear service level agreements.
  • Lead and continuously strengthen relationships with key vendors, data providers, and third-party partners.
  • Negotiate agreements with vendor partners to achieve firm strategic initiatives.
  • Proactively identify new strategic services and opportunities for improved service levels with vendor partners.
  • Utilize Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to measure service levels and implement continuous improvement.
  • Establish procurement procedures to source, evaluate, and select vendor partners.
  • Standardize the firm’s RFP process.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Finance for vendor onboarding and offboarding procedures.
  • Oversee and track vendor relationships, reporting on status to executives and management.
  • Partner with internal audit to address vendor risks.
  • Execute ad hoc vendor-related projects and strategic initiatives.
