About The Position

The Manager of Strategic Undergraduate Recruitment Events plans and implements large scale recruitment programs for students in all stages of the enrollment funnel as well as events for high school and community college counselors to support university goals. The Manager will oversee operational, financial, and personnel functions related to these new events, will support existing Admissions programming, collaborate with other university academic units and departments and complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree strongly preferred in Higher Education, Educational Administration, Student Personnel Administration, etc.
  • 2-3 years of admissions, orientation, and/or new student programming preferred.
  • Experience with large-scale event planning.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordination and logistical execution of large-scale special recruitment programs as well as collaborative events hosted by the Office of Admissions.
  • Responsible for coordination and logistical execution of counselor visit programs in the fall and spring semesters for high school and community college advisors.
  • Contributes to the development and execution of communication plans designed to drive engagement and maximize attendance at all special events.
  • Responsible for all tasks for the annual UM Counselor Luncheons (12 per year) including invitation lists, facility reservations, food orders, staffing, programming and logistics.
  • Facilitates MOACAC CUBE event in years that UMKC hosts and will be the point person for all of UMKC's events as part of the NACAC 2027 conference hosted in Kansas City.
  • Assistance with existing on-campus events including delegation of major tasks as assigned by the Director of Admissions and the Assistant Director of Campus Visits.
  • Develops and disseminates university information through presentations, communication plans, drip campaigns, publications, etc.
  • Works collaboratively with university partners (academic units and campus departments) as well as community partners and organizations.
  • Represents the Office of Admissions on university and/or community committees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
