This job is responsible for managing the operations of the Specialty Pharmacy including clinical and non-clinical staff and operations. Provides direction and leadership to the Specialty Pharmacy team. Ensure consistency and efficiency of workflow. Evaluates options for specialty pharmacy services ensuring exceptional customer service and fiscal focus. Develop and maintain relationships with clinical staff, patients, and specialty pharmacy team to develop and grow Specialty Pharmacy Services. This job is the Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) of the Specialty Pharmacy and has the fiduciary responsibility to oversee the operations in compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations. Is responsible for marketing materials accurately representing OSP services. Is the Leader of the weekly OSP staff meeting and serves on the OSP Quality, Clinical and Executive Committees. Is responsible for gathering and reporting metrics to the committees in accordance with all policies and procedures. This job serves as the Care Coordination Manager responsible for all patient contact processes in OSP; and the Privacy Officer monitoring and training staff for compliance with HIPAA policies and procedures and analyzing and reporting all breaches.

  • Manages Specialty Pharmacy Operations and Patient Safety.
  • Manages Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Operations.
  • Manages, develops and engages the Specialty Pharmacy Staff.
  • Responsible for building relationships with patients, providers, payors and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement service initiatives to grow Specialty Pharmacy business.
  • Ensures Compliance with all regulatory, licensing and accreditation entities.
  • Assist the Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Pharmacy Staff as needed.
  • Other related duties as required.
  • School/College of Pharmacy degree.
  • 5 years of Retail Pharmacy experience including 1 year of Specialty Pharmacy experience.
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of practice.
  • Knowledge of 3rd Party Plans and prior authorization processes.
  • Motivated to care for patients, utilize clinical data, and ensure patients receive prescribed medications.
  • Commitment to customer service and patient care.
  • Experience in coaching and developing staff / teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team engagement skills.
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient with Windows-style applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
