As the Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking's Alternate Lending, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  • Experience of hands-on programming/application development experience utilizing Java, Spring Boot, REST, Micro Services, Cloud Native, Agile, DevOps and TDD
  • Current experience with a cloud platform in AWS. Utilization of Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Kafka event messaging
  • Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
  • Proven record of providing end-user support with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
  • Excellent intercultural, verbal, and written communication skills, with an emphasis on tactful delivery of opinions and feedback.
  • In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems

  • AWS or other cloud service associate level certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with engineers to mentor, coach, and support their professional growth.
  • Work closely with product managers and cross-functional stakeholders to define, prioritize, and deliver on product goals.
  • Oversee technical design, architecture, and implementation to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • Drive best engineering practices, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration.
  • Identify and remove roadblocks to keep projects on track and teams motivated.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and knowledge sharing.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop top engineering talent.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, providing updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive team environment.
