About The Position

The Manager of Risk Technologies will primarily manage the Archer GRC/IRM platform to enable a systematic and standardized approach to risk management across the Credit Union. Results of your work in this role are used at the Executive and Board levels to demonstrate our compliance and prioritize investments for Wings. This role will interact with key team players to deliver the highest quality compliance data, and will be responsible for managing the integration of Archer with other key credit union systems to ensure consistent, reliable data standards are being met. Developing a strategic approach to integrating a technology platform with risk management is key to the success of Wings as we grow past $20 Billion is asset size.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Technology, Information Systems, or other related discipline. Required
  • 7+ Years of relevant experience related to risk management, program development, or system management (Archer preferred). Required
  • 3+ Years financial industry experience. Required
  • 1+ Years team leadership, mentorship, or management experience. Required
  • Ability to foster open communications, listen effectively and build strong partnership networks.
  • Ability to analyze trends and suggest solutions to challenges.
  • Ability to manage change and effectively influence and consistently build strong lasting working relationships with stakeholders across all levels.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aptitude for leadership, mentoring staff, and initiative.
  • Understanding of what makes an effective risk management framework and how the underlying components are connected, as well as understanding effective governance.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Oversight of the following: Under the strategic guidance of the Director of Risk Operations and Analytics, the manager will focus on leading a team tasked with designing, building, and scaling key risk programs in various systems, including but not limited to Archer, ensuring they align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for providing leadership and guidance for operating, administering, and serving as a subject matter expert on the primary GRC platform, as well as any other ancillary systems.
  • Provide strategy and engineering guidance related to the life cycle support for the GRC platform.
  • Maintain process flow diagrams, dynamic reports, and dashboards to provide enterprise-level and division-level risk summaries.
  • Maintain SaaS instances (Dev/Test and Production) of the GRC application, ensuring system health is maintained, and issues are communicated promptly and dealt with professionally.
  • Lead IRM/GRC Administration team and coordinate respective work and training.
  • Serve as liaison between vendors and Ent staff.
  • Manage the integration of enterprise systems with the GRC platform.
  • Administration of one or more risk technology platforms: As needed, provide administration of risk technology platforms, backing up the team of developers. This may include: handling day-to-day requests for assistance from users, building fields, managing workflows, granting system access, and troubleshooting system issues.
  • Staff Development and Training: Independently focus on cultivating a high-performing team and fostering an educational approach to risk management throughout the organization.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of risk professionals, creating growth and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and accountability.
  • Take an educational approach to risk management, champion a proactive approach, and work closely with business units to increase their understanding of risk principles.
  • Equip teams with the knowledge and tools they need to make risk-aware decisions and drive strategic growth.
  • Collaborate across departments to embed risk management into business operations.
  • Act as a key resource for educating and guiding business units on risk management best practices, ensuring alignment with the credit union's strategic objectives.
  • Conduct performance reviews and establish goals.
  • Approve PTO requests, hiring, performance improvement/development plans, and terminations as needed.
  • Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Ent policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
