About The Position

The Manager of Recruitment and Student Experience oversees undergraduate recruitment, outreach, and student engagement operations for the College of Science, which includes five academic departments and the Museum of Natural Science, offers eight undergraduate majors with 20+ concentrations, and provides pre-medical and pre-dental advising support to undergraduate students. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Services, this role manages staff and coordinates college-wide undergraduate-focused recruitment and outreach efforts to promote the College of Science to prospective students and families. The position leads large-scale recruitment events reaching 1,500+ participants annually and collaborates with the LSU Office of Enrollment Management, College of Science leadership, and academic departments to support undergraduate enrollment, persistence, and career readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of professional related experience
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in undergraduate recruitment, student services, enrollment management, student engagement, or a related higher education function
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including responsibility for coordinating programs, initiatives, or staff/student workers
  • Experience planning and coordinating events, outreach activities, or large-scale programs
  • Experience working directly with undergraduate students and families in a higher education setting

Responsibilities

  • Manage Undergraduate Recruitment: Lead the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of all College of Science undergraduate recruitment and yield events targeting high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Oversee College of Science participation in major university recruitment initiatives, including Kickoff LSU, Admitted Students Day, Destination LSU, Stamps Scholarship Weekend, and Enrollment Management programs serving target student populations; evaluate effectiveness and recommend enhancements or new event opportunities as recruitment needs evolve.
  • Undergraduate Internship & Career Readiness Programs: Serve as the administrative lead for SCI 3200, the College of Science undergraduate internship course. Coordinate course logistics, enrollment processes, policies, and compliance in collaboration with instructor of record. Partner with the Olinde Career Center and external stakeholders to support undergraduate internship opportunities aligned with College of Science majors. Track, assess, and report undergraduate internship participation and career readiness outcomes. Work with CoS leadership and departments to assess and revise graduate student survey.
  • Academic Department & Faculty Collaboration: Manage collaboration with College of Science academic departments and faculty to support undergraduate recruitment and outreach efforts. Coordinate faculty participation in recruitment events, departmental sessions, and prospective student visits to enhance engagement and academic connection. Facilitate meaningful interactions between prospective students, families, and faculty to showcase academic programs, research opportunities, and student experiences. Assess departmental recruitment needs and priorities and provide recommendations to improve outreach, messaging, and engagement strategies.
  • Student Ambassador Program: Lead and manage the College of Science Student Ambassador Program, including independent hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, and evaluation of undergraduate student leaders. Oversee ambassador participation in undergraduate recruitment events, tours, Welcome Week, and retention initiatives. Supervise full-time staff supporting recruitment and student engagement functions. Provide regular recruitment updates to College of Science leadership and prepare annual reports assessing recruitment and ambassador program effectiveness.
  • Assessment & Evaluation: Provide regular undergraduate recruitment and yield updates to College of Science leadership. Prepare and present annual reports assessing the effectiveness of recruitment strategies, yield initiatives, and the College of Science Student Ambassador Program. Analyze Enrollment Management and College of Science data to evaluate outreach efforts, participation trends, and program outcomes. Use assessment findings to recommend data-informed improvements to recruitment operations and student engagement initiatives.
  • Staff Supervision & Operational Oversight: Supervise the Student Services Coordinator responsible for undergraduate student inquiries, scholarship administration, and monitoring of scholarship maintenance requirements. Oversee enrollment processes for KIN 3519 and KIN 4519 in support of undergraduate career readiness. Assign priorities, monitor workload, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of student-facing services. Provide performance evaluation, coaching, and professional development support. May supervise additional full-time recruitment staff as organizational needs evolve.
  • Other Duties: Participate in college-wide programs and events, including graduation ceremonies, Honors Convocation, and various CoS events. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor in support of College of Science operational needs.
