About The Position

HCA Healthcare is looking for a Manager of Med-Surg Observation Unit at Sunrise Hospital. This role involves participating in the development of patient care services, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies, and improving care processes. The manager will also assist in staffing standards, coach unit personnel, and represent the department in various committees.

Requirements

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing required.
• BSN required; Master's Degree in Nursing or related health field required (or actively in progress).
• Current Nevada license to practice nursing required.
• Active and current BLS, ACLS certifications.
• Certification in Nursing Administration (CNA) preferred.
• Current acute clinical knowledge required.
• Minimum of 1 year management experience required.
• Recent acute clinical experience (3 years) preferably in the assigned clinical area.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of the plan of patient care services for the clinical area.
• Ensure unit compliance with all regulatory agencies and the State of Nevada Nurse Practice Act.
• Perform data collection and analysis for decision-making.
• Seek opportunities to improve care or system processes.
• Incorporate performance improvement principles and data.
• Assist in the development of staffing standards for clinical areas.
• Ensure daily staffing standards meet productivity targets.
• Coach charge nurses and other unit personnel on effective staffing patterns.
• Serve as a positive role model for staff management and professional standards of nursing.
• Represent departments on interdepartmental and interdisciplinary committees.
