About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to join a Skilled Nursing Facility located in Waterloo, New York, in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. This leadership role is ideal for a nurse with a consistent background in Long Term Care who is ready to lead, mentor, and support clinical teams while ensuring high-quality, resident-centered care. Relocation assistance is available. The facility includes 130 Skilled Nursing beds, 20 Behavioral Health beds, and one Respite Care bed. Care is delivered across four units, including two Skilled Nursing units, a neurobehavioral unit, and a secure unit for cognitively impaired residents requiring specialized care. Short-term rehabilitation, respite services, and comprehensive life enrichment programs are offered in a modern, resident-focused environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years recent Nurse Manager or Nursing Supervisor experience in a Long Term Care facility
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Professional Nurse program
  • Current New York State RN license required
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in Long Term Care
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literacy required, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Special Needs Units preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
  • Meditech experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for nursing operations within the assigned unit
  • Supervise CNA Trainees, CNAs, Senior CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and Unit Clerks
  • Promote quality, patient safety, and exceptional resident and family experiences
  • Foster staff development, empowerment, teamwork, and professional growth
  • Ensure coordination of care across departments through interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Allocate resources to support efficient, effective, compassionate, and fiscally responsible care
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, orientation, education, and retention of staff
  • Ensure compliance with NYS Department of Health regulations
  • Assess departmental needs and implement performance improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrate strong communication with staff, residents, families, physicians, and leadership
