Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• 3-5 years of progressively more responsible clinical and supervisory nursing experience.
• Current RN license in good standing in the state of Michigan.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to operate and perform basic computer programs associated with record keeping in the department.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems and equipment associated with the delivery of patient care.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Nursing, MBA, or Master of Health Administration preferred.
• Additional education/experience may be required depending on department.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the activities of professional and ancillary personnel engaged in the provision of nursing care and manage the overall operation of an assigned nursing unit.
• Participate in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-making.
• Develop and administer procedures necessary to implement approved policies and provide overall direction to ensure efficient and effective services.
• Facilitate participation of staff in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-making.
• Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of care.
• Advocate on behalf of patient and family, ensuring fair and ethical treatment.
• Coordinate nursing services with the services of other health care disciplines.
• Participate in the recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel.
• Monitor the administration, documentation, and safekeeping of all controlled medications maintained on the unit.
• Develop educational curricula, policies, and solutions to problems relating to infection prevention.
