About The Position

The Manager of Mission Communication is a key voice in how FamilyForward communicates its purpose, progress, and people. This position leads strategic storytelling, creates compelling content, and ensures that our mission resonates with supporters and the communities we serve. Equal parts communicator, connector, and creator, this role brings our mission to life through digital and in-person touchpoints, building trust with community members, and playing a pivotal role in donor pipeline development. This is a unique opportunity for a rare communicator, someone equally comfortable writing compelling copy as they are showing up in the community, building relationships, and capturing stories firsthand. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of marketing and mission, understands the power of authentic storytelling, and wants to be both behind the keyboard and out in the field. This position supervises a part-time graphic designer and works cross-functionally with Development, Program, and Leadership teams to ensure our messaging reflects the lived experiences and values of the families we serve. FamilyForward is committed to upholding the Organizational Health Anchors that we have set for the agency, including safety; mindfulness and self-regulation; relational health; cultural diversity, inclusivity, equity, and anti-racism; clinical lens; vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue.
