About The Position

We are looking for a Manager of Internal Communications to strengthen and lead our internal communications efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or a related field.
  • At least 6-8 years of experience in internal communications.
  • Strong writing and communications skills, preferably in the TIC industry or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, understand stakeholder needs and deliver solutions aligned with the mission and goals.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, including initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing the work of a project team to achieve goals, budgets, and timelines.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, including the ability to build relationships, interpret financial indicators, adopt innovative ideas and apply knowledge of the business to advance the organization’s goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver organizational messages using various communication modes for transparency and clarity of messages with teams in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and respond quickly to organizational needs, demonstrating resiliency in various situations, and adapting quickly to changing needs of the business.
  • Understanding and experience in AP style.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to apply principles of logic or communications theory to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Must actively model all NSF core values and possess high ethical standards.
  • Collaborative with a global mindset, and engages with stakeholders across programs and geographies to achieve business results.
  • Ability to be on-site hybrid, at least three days/week – specifically, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Willingness to travel, if and when required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write and edit internal communications for senior leaders and key stakeholders including emails, organizational announcements, town hall decks and messaging and newsletters.
  • Oversee and lead all global town halls and global leadership meetings – from development of the run-of-show, to presentation development, to running the live events – the Manager will work closely with the CEO to ensure seamless delivery of global internal events.
  • Lead all global, internal leadership organizational announcements – provide guidance on best practices, lead material development, and oversee execution of delivery.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to leaders, partner teams and functions across the organization with a focus on building trusted relationships.
  • Engage and partner with subject matter experts and key internal stakeholders throughout the content development process – from capturing relevant and accurate information to training other team members to create compelling team member content to signing off on reviews and approvals – helping to project manage and report out on intranet stories and internal channels is imperative.
  • Lead internal communication campaigns from start to finish, working to ensure team members across the company receive the right information at the right time using the most effective communications channel(s) based on their needs.
  • Effectively track and measure team member engagement on internal channels and make recommendations for new approaches.
  • Oversee divisional and functional communications partners who create content for the organization’s intranet.
  • Ensure a high level of editorial review, consistency and quality across all organizational communications.
  • Maintain knowledge of the most current creative communications techniques and practices to enhance internal communication efforts.
