About The Position

Being the Manager of Housing is responsible for the implementation, coordination, and development of housing programs and case management services. The Manager of Housing will work with Case Managers to assess survivor’s needs, connect clients to appropriate services, and to advocate for clients to ensure the provision of comprehensive services meet the identified needs/goals. The Manager of Housing will implement services with a trauma-informed, evidence-based, and client-centered approach while assisting clients toward self-sufficiency. Your Schedule: Grant Funded Position: This position is supported by grant funding and continued employment is contingent upon the renewal of that funding, all grants are subject to renewal. Requirements

  • You have at minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Public Health, or other social sciences.
  • You have at minimum five years’ experience working as a Case Manager working within a housing program, working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence, or similar in a social service setting working with vulnerable populations with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • You have at minimum of three years’ experience leading a team with direct reports.
  • Professional English.
  • You have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
  • You are computer savvy and able to learn new applications and systems quickly.
  • Texas driver’s license with a good driving record; ability to travel to off-site locations, utilizing personal transportation. MVR required – Must be able to drive van.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise housing staff, including hiring, training, preparing job descriptions, evaluation, and separation.
  • Network with housing service providers and social services agencies regarding housing services including serving as a contact for Coalition for the Homeless.
  • Liaison with community agencies and organizations and attend related interagency meetings.
  • Serve as a liaison to individuals/families navigating the Houston/Harris County housing landscape.
  • Work directly with individuals, providers in the community, and housing providers, including landlords in the community.
  • Coordinate with the compliance department to ensure timely submission of reports.
  • Responsible for resource development regarding specific project needs.
  • Implement, coordinate, and evaluate the housing service needs of clients.
  • Develop policies and procedures for housing projects and staff.
  • Work with the Director of Housing in continuously assessing case management modalities.
  • Work to help clients break down barriers, Mobile Advocacy may be required. This includes meeting the client in the community at home, work, or other safe places, etc., accompanying clients to appointments as needed, and performing apartment inspections to ensure compliance guidelines are met.
  • Plan, monitor, and budget program expenditures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
