About The Position

Hubbell's Iron Mountain, MI location is looking for a Manager of Electrical Testing. As the Manager of Electrical Testing you will manage our team of talented electrical test engineers and technicians responsible for the electrical testing and quality assurance of our products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering, Business, or Management-related field, or equivalent education and work experience. Electrical Engineering background preferred.
  • Minimum five years' experience with increasing responsibility in an engineering or management position in a similar industry.
  • Familiarity with Power Transmission & Distribution systems and their Protection and Control preferred
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Highly motivated with strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive initiatives to produce results
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to effectively align priorities to meet business needs
  • Develops and leads a Team who can work effectively under strict and varying timelines
  • Skilled at evaluating employee performance, and in providing training, direction, and support
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, readily mentoring across the organization
  • Ability to effectively interface with internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Programs: Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment and software a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of our electrical testing workforce, including both in-plant and field testing requirements to deliver high product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Work with Customers and company Leadership to understand current and emerging electrical testing requirements and technologies, and ensure our teams are able to meet our Customers' needs
  • Ensure production capacities and resource planning are in line with sales projections; recommend hiring as necessary
  • Communicate and coordinate production workflow with other departments leaders, while fostering a strong working relationship throughout the value stream
  • Lead in the development and implementation of departmental goals and strategies
  • Develop direct reports through daily, weekly, and annual coaching to build a highly productive and actively engaged workforce
  • Promote and lead by example through participation in 'My Ideas', Coach, Problem Solving, Lean, and other Continuous Improvement processes/initiatives, applying these principles within the team to drive out waste and reduce costs
