The position oversees the functions needed for the dual diagnosis program to run effectively and efficiently, including completing assessments, such as the ASAM, completing individualized service plans, and individual sessions. Overall supervision of the Dual Diagnosis Program includes supervision of staff within the program, coordination of service planning, group programming, and risk management for the Dual Diagnosis clients. Additionally, clinical and administrative supervision of staff on the Dual Diagnosis team is required. The position provides face-to-face screening, assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group psychotherapy in response to requests for assistance with mental health and substance use disorder issues

Requirements

  • In order to perform the essential functions of this job, after an orientation period, the employee must possess the following: a working knowledge of Riveon Mental Health and Recovery Policy and Procedures, including sensitivity and adherence to clients’ rights, confidentiality, and health and safety issues.
  • This position must also exhibit sensitivity to different cultures and be able to present information and respond to questions from management, employees, and the general public.
  • Reacts to change and stress productively and handles other related tasks as assigned.
  • Personal skills would include good organization skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work productively with a wide variety of personalities
  • Independent licensure (LISW, LICDC or LPCC) required.
  • A master’s degree is required with supervision endorsement strongly preferred.
  • Must have strong oral and written skills.
  • Basic computer skills required, including familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Must be highly skilled at behavioral health screening/assessment and counseling in both chemical abuse and mental illness, making appropriate referral, and working effectively under pressure.
  • Must have favorable references and/or evaluations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in assessment, crisis intervention, conducting long and short-term therapy and counseling or other experience in the treatment of mental health/chemical abuse are preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish speaking) major plus.
  • Experience with EHR (electronic health records) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Directs, manages, and provides clinical leadership to the dual diagnosis program as assigned.
  • Assumes responsibility for hiring and scheduling staff.
  • Trains, monitors, and evaluates staff performance.
  • Assumes responsibility for staff discipline and performance management as set forth by Riveon policies and procedures.
  • Manages referrals and engagement into the services, as well as the case roster and/or utilization review of clients to determine the next level of care
  • Coordinate treatment with other agencies, services and other programs within the agency.
  • Complete case notes on intake process, treatment plan and client’s progress in accordance with agency and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide consultation and education service to community groups by assisting in program planning, giving educational talks and lectures, and by consulting on specific cases.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and administrative meetings as required for the Outpatient Counseling Department.
  • Provides clinical and managerial oversight to assigned therapists.
  • Provide screening, assessment, crisis intervention, individual and group services in response to requests for aid.
  • Conduct short and long-term therapy and/or counseling sessions with individuals and groups using various psychotherapeutic treatment modalities. Sessions may be conducted in a variety of settings including the main office, ancillary offices, and community settings.
  • Facilitates and Oversee Intensive Outpatient Group 1-3 times per week, or as needed.
  • Maintain required productivity expectation.
  • React to change and stress productively and handle other tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain regular, predictable attendance and be available for evening counseling sessions, if needed.
