The Manager of Digital Project & Program Management, Data manages professional individual contributors and / or supervisors who exercise latitude and independence. Often leads one or more departments / teams. As a Manager of Digital Project & Program Management, Data you’ll lead a team of Analyst / Project / Program Managers who drive the technology project lifecycle to make our digital tools work, whether they are for Customers in our Stores or in workplaces across the Company. Responsible for hiring, firing, and performance / pay reviews. Makes decisions based on business objectives and allocated resources. Establishes operational objectives and work plans and delegates assignments to the team. Involved in modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide impact. Supports the function’s (Digital) business strategy by implementing new standards and products, processes, and mid-term business plans. We are looking for: 5+ years of related experience; experience in data program management leadership What is the work? Manages activities of two or more sections or departments. Exercises supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing. Leads team / department and undertakes coaching and mentoring responsibilities. A portion of time may be spent performing individual tasks related to the department / team or function. Impact: Assignments are objective oriented. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting departmental objectives and timelines. Failure to achieve objectives will have short term impact on cost and on department / team success with potential impact on the department. Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Assures adherence to budgets and establishes schedules, work plans, and performance requirements. Looks beyond existing methodologies to resolve complex issues often cross-functional in nature or with significant impact to the business. Interacts daily with direct reports, peer leaders, and senior leaders effectively communicating and presenting results and recommendations within their department. Management: Hires / maintains staffing / fires/ promotes / demotes / transfers / disciplines / approves raises; manages / develops / trains teams to achieve department goals; develops / delegates tasks to complete projects; manages communications with stakeholders. Leads / coaches / provides effective feedback; provides day-to-day technical / functional leadership; communicates connection between Partners and impact to operational objectives. Identifies / drives changes in alignment with business and data strategies. Provides leadership and expertise; participates in cross-functional initiatives; ensures Partners maintain sufficient knowledge; identifies training needs. Manages activities that drive digital project / program development and delivery at the team / department level, and across departments; serves as dedicated owner of a set of related programs, typically strategically or thematically related. Explores / validates / executes with no pre-defined solutions; makes independent decisions in ambiguous and complex areas based on analysis, experience, and judgment. Collaborates cross-functionally to understand / document business needs in an end-to-end manner. Collaborates with business customers, Program Managers, Design & Engineering Partners to drive technology project lifecycle (conception, user research, design and prototyping, development, pilot, launch, measurement, iteration) Flexes existing processes to maximize outcomes; identifies critical risks and dependencies; anticipates / resolves critical team issues. Manages large and complex budgets aligned to delivering business outcomes. Direct experience managing people focused on data platforms and solutions. What is your background? Bachelor / Masters’ degree in a relevant field of education and / or work experience leading successful projects and coaching / mentoring others in functional area. Completion of H-E-B Leadership programs where applicable (i.e., SORL) 5+ years of experience in program management supporting data, data platforms, data insights and information technology in the retail sector. Execution of multi-year data or technology programs Experience in leadership/ management Do you have what it takes to be an H-E-B Manager of Digital Project & Program Management?
