Role Purpose The Construction Technology Manager is responsible for the deployment, configuration, and optimization of machine control systems and construction equipment technologies on large EPC Transmission Line and Substation projects. The role is field-focused, ensuring GPS/GNSS-enabled equipment, positioning systems, and digital field tools are correctly set up and used to improve accuracy, productivity, safety, and execution efficiency.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in heavy civil, power, or infrastructure construction
  • Strong hands-on experience with machine control systems and field equipment technology
  • Proven experience supporting earthworks, foundations, and precision construction
  • Machine control systems (GPS/GNSS, total station-based guidance)
  • Construction equipment setup, calibration, and diagnostics
  • Coordinate systems and field positioning
  • Earthworks, foundations, and tolerance control
  • Digital as-built capture and field data management

Nice To Haves

  • Transmission Line and/or Substation project experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Configure, calibrate, and support machine control systems for excavators, dozers, graders, drilling rigs, and earthmoving equipment
  • Manage GPS/GNSS, total station, and laser-based guidance systems
  • Perform daily accuracy checks, calibration verification, and tolerance control
  • Support machine control for tower and pole foundations, access roads, working platforms, and grading
  • Support substation earthworks, foundations, trenching, duct banks, and grounding works
  • Ensure positioning accuracy aligns with approved coordinates and layouts
  • Act as the primary field contact for machine control and positioning issues
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting for hardware, software, and signal-related problems
  • Support construction teams during critical and high-production activities
  • Coordinate with survey teams to ensure correct data transfer to construction equipment
  • Reduce manual staking through digital layout and machine guidance
  • Manage digital as-built data capture for quantities, progress, and handover
  • Establish standard procedures for machine control use across EPC projects
  • Train operators, supervisors, and field staff on system operation and best practices
  • Interface with OEMs and vendors to support equipment performance and technology deployment
  • Improve safety by minimizing manual layout and rework
  • Enhance quality through precision-controlled construction
  • Increase equipment utilization and reduce downtime
