About The Position

Ducks Unlimited, the world’s leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation, is seeking a Manager of Conservation Services to join our Great Plains Region Team. This full-time position will join a team of conservation professionals furthering DU’s conservation efforts across seven states (North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana). We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual with strong analytical and quantitative skills. This position will be based out of one of our regional offices (Bismarck, ND, Grand Island, NE, or Fort Collins, CO). Remote work may also be considered. The Manager of Conservation Services will report to the Director of Conservation Services and will be responsible for supervising day-to-day grant management operations.   Work with a diverse team of conservation professionals to provide administrative oversight of public grant and private funding for DU’s wetland conservation efforts.  Support the work of staff, partners, and landowners on grassland, wetland, and conservation restoration and protection efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with federal and/or state grant recipients
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Well-organized and detail oriented

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of 3 – 4 grant management specialists, ensuring procurement and grant standards and professional development
  • Coordinate contract development and implementation, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, review and commentary, approval, and dissemination
  • Monitor grant management and financial operations and recommend and implement process improvements
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and training of standard operating procedures for grant and financial management
  • Monitor, analyze, and reconcile project budgets and expenditures
