About The Position

The Center for Disability Services offers hope, innovation and achievement to the people they support, serving as one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals with disabilities for 80 years. Many of the innovative programs and vital services offered are not available elsewhere. The Manager of Clinical Services will join the Center Health Care Team in Albany, NY, providing discipline-specific leadership and clinical supervision within Article 16 and Article 28 clinics. This role involves partnering closely with practice directors, clinical leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective services to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. The position combines hands-on clinical practice with staff supervision, program oversight, and quality improvement responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Physical Therapy
  • Current New York State Physical Therapist license (must be maintained)
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience supervising professional staff
  • Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision‑making skills
  • Knowledge of clinical regulations, standards of practice, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Ability to manage caseloads, staff productivity, and program priorities

Responsibilities

  • Provide management and clinical supervision to Physical Therapists and assigned clinical staff
  • Maintain a clinical caseload (minimum one day per week)
  • Oversee Wheelchair Clinic services and post‑fall review processes
  • Ensure compliance with clinical, regulatory, and documentation requirements
  • Review assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and physician communication
  • Promote accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Conduct regular clinical supervision, observation, coaching, and performance evaluations
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and clinical orientation of new staff
  • Assign and manage clinician caseloads and productivity
  • Support staff professional development, morale, and retention
  • Participate in Clinical Council, program planning, and clinical initiatives
  • Collaborate with caregivers, physicians, vendors, and interdisciplinary partners
  • Consult with the Chief Medical Director on clinical matters as needed
