About The Position

The Manager of Category Performance Improvement at EG America LLC is responsible for developing data-driven category strategies that enhance profitability and productivity across the company's assortment. This role involves collaborating with various teams to analyze market trends, assess vendor and product performance, and create actionable plans to drive growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, strategic insight, and negotiation experience, enabling them to effectively partner across functions to achieve business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in category management, marketing, or performance improvement, ideally within retail or CPG sectors.
  • Proficiency with data analytics tools such as PowerBI and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with retail marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the category review process in collaboration with Marketing, including assortment benchmarking and vendor negotiations.
  • Perform quantitative analysis and develop models to assess category performance and vendor funding using tools like PowerBI and Excel.
  • Drive decision-making with incomplete information and develop creative solutions to data limitations.
  • Negotiate annual CMA funding from national brand vendors and participate in vendor meetings to drive improvements.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Sourcing, Field Operations, and IT to ensure execution and realization of value.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships with internal teams and suppliers to seek collaboration opportunities.
  • Identify and test new approaches to improve category profitability using Test & Learn methods.
