About The Position

Opened in 2010, Palmdale Regional Medical Center is a 184-bed, acute care hospital located in Palmdale, CA. One of Southern California's newest hospitals and featuring all-private patient rooms, Palmdale Regional provides high-quality, award-winning patient care to residents and visitors of the Antelope Valley and surrounding areas. Palmdale Regional is active in the community and regularly participates with the Antelope Valley Board of Trade/Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance (now AV Edge), and other civic and governmental groups. Palmdale Regional believes in 'Community Service Excellence' and supports nonprofit agencies and other healthcare related organizations. Palmdale Regional recently joined the newly created regional brand, Southwest Healthcare. This comprehensive network of care incorporates five hospitals in the southern California region and includes multiple convenient ambulatory locations serving many communities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University as a Registered Nurse.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of clinical experience in Case Management or Utilization Review.
  • Two (2) years management or supervisory experience in Case Management or Utilization Review required, acute care experience highly preferred.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • CPUR, CPUM, Case Manager Certification (CCM) or other national certification in Utilization Review or Case Management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, facilitate, and coordinate the Care Management system.
  • Evaluate patient care outcomes and financial outcomes impacted by the Care Management system.
  • Collaborate with hospital departments, medical staff, Home Health Care/Hospice agencies, durable medical equipment companies, nursing homes, and others to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care coordination.
  • Manage operational functions of the department including staffing, scheduling, performance management, and financial/productivity.
  • Assist in teaching others how to analyze patient care data and present it to meet organizational goals.
  • Follow Service Excellence standards and ensure compliance by department associates.
