The Manager of Capital Reporting is a critical position reporting to the Director of Capital Finance Reporting & Analysis. The Manager of Capital Reporting & Analysis will be responsible for the financial reporting on the MBTA's $9+ billion five (5)-year Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and will develop reports and dashboards to monitor capital projects and financial KPIs. This position will be responsible for developing and preparing reporting, analytics, and metrics for relevant stakeholders, including the MBTA board of directors and senior management. This position will meet with project teams to review monthly actual capital spend vs. projected capital spend and develop effective partnerships inside the department and across the MBTA. This position will also be crucial in the development of proactive financial reporting using data analysis tools such as python and SQL.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in finance, government, business, economics, engineering, or related field.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in financial operations, business analysis, administration and/or operations management.
• Two (2) years experience creating reporting using SQL or R/Python.
• One (1) year supervisory/lead experience.
• Experience with financial reporting.
• Organization skills and ability to multitask.
• Ability to collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Expert skills with Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to use Tableau, Access and Other Database applications.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to manage sensitive and confidential issues.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel to locations throughout the MBTA's service area.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in accounting, finance, business or public policy from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating with IT department on data management systems.
• Experience with PeopleSoft, Tableau, Access, and Infomaker.
• Transit Industry experience.
• Experience with grant accounting and reporting.
• Experience in government finance.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Director and finance teams on the monthly, quarterly, and annual capital project and capital program reporting.
• Work with budget analysts to perform monthly departmental reviews for all capital projects.
• Assist with the quarterly project cash flow projections process.
• Responsible for developing and delivering new reports utilizing data analytics tools such as Python, R, and SQL.
• Manage the annual headcount budget process.
• Manage the headcount approval process for new requests and backfills.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual National Transit Database (NTD) reporting to the FTA.
• Collaborate on the development of Tableau dashboards.
• Participate in ERP upgrade and integration of the MBTA's ERP system.
• Identify, communicate, and recommend options for improved organizational efficiency.
• Perform all other duties and tasks that may be assigned.
