About The Position

Boulder Community Health is seeking a Manager of Business Applications Services who is a strategic and operational leader responsible for managing the implementation, support, and optimization of business applications at Boulder Community Health, in alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational goals, This role manages a department of high performing application analysts, and leads cross-functional teams and initiatives The person in this position will work closely with all hospital departments, physicians, contracted vendors and other hospital staff to support and maintain the business applications at BCH and supported Epic Connect sites. They will work closely with the other managers and directors in the Application Services, Technical Infrastructure, and Project Management Departments in the performance of their duties. This position supervises the Business Application Analysts and is an exempt position with on-call responsibilities. This is a hybrid position, in which much of the work is done remotely with periodic onsite requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a Healthcare related field preferred. An equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or relevant IT/Healthcare certifications will be considered.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license required.
  • Three years of experience in a management or project management position within a healthcare setting required. Five years preferred.
  • Healthcare Revenue Cycle and Patient Access experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • HIMSS, HFMA, ITIL, or Epic certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership, Development & Engagement: Provide strategic, collaborative leadership to the Business Applications Support team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and alignment with BCH's mission.
  • Talent & Onboarding: Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding in alignment with BCH standards and regulations.
  • Workforce Oversight: Manage staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, and on-call coverage.
  • Performance & Development: Set clear expectations, provide feedback, conduct evaluations, and address performance issues. Promote continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Goal Alignment: Define individual and team goals that support BCH's strategic initiatives.
  • Technology Strategy & Service Excellence: Oversee technology solutions that enhance clinical and operational efficiency while ensuring superior customer service.
  • Innovation & Optimization: Lead adoption of emerging technology and oversee application optimization efforts.
  • Issue Management: Ensure timely resolution of tickets and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with clinical, technical, and operational leaders to prioritize work and ensure effective technology use.
  • Policy & Process Improvement: Develop policies and lead process improvement initiatives to drive quality outcomes.
  • Training & Communication: Coordinate technology training and maintain proactive communication with leadership.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Lead technology projects to successful, on-time, and within-budget completion.
  • Project Leadership: Plan, lead, and track project activities, timelines, resources, and risks.
  • Implementation & Monitoring: Support deployment and adoption efforts while ensuring deliverables meet expectations.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear project records including risk plans and status updates.
  • Strategic, Regulatory & Operational Support: Contribute to the broader IT and organizational strategy through governance, planning, and compliance.
  • Security & Continuity: Support IT security, disaster recovery, and continuity plans.
  • Strategic Input: Assist with IT planning, budgeting, and governance participation.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure regulatory adherence and uphold Environment of Care and infection control practices.
