Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Manager of Aviation Maintenance. The Manager of Aviation Maintenance is responsible for the daily maintenance and repair of various aircraft, including the Gulfstream G600, Challenger 350, and Citation Encore. Seeking candidates with FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification required. FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) Certification required. Minimum of five years’ experience repairing aircraft engines, including a minimum of three years’ experience in a Part 91 or Part 135 environment. Experience with large cabin corporate aircraft, Gulfstream strongly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of planning and implementing maintenance programs and control systems. Extensive experience troubleshooting and diagnosing expert-level mechanical repairs. High school diploma or GED with computer-based aircraft recordkeeping. Requirements for the Manager of Aviation Maintenance position include: Must have thorough knowledge of aircraft engines to troubleshoot and analyze unique and high level problems/issues quickly and improvise using logic and critical thinking skills to make needed repairs. Familiarity with FAA LOAs and MEL creation/management. Must have excellent mechanical aptitude. Must be able to work independently and part of a team. Must be able to interact with customers on a professional level. Must be a strong communicator with excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be self-directed and well organized and with the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service. Must have ability to repair Caterpillar and competitive components and machines. Demonstrate ability to learn and apply new knowledge. Must be 21 years of age. Must have an excellent driving record. Proficient use of technical software, databases and manuals. Must be able to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment. Must be able to work any shift and overtime as needed to meet business demands. Promote positive customer experience.
