Position Summary: Manages human, financial, and material resources in a collaborative relationship with Anesthesiology Clinical and administrative Leadersto deliver high quality, customer focused, cost effective, and responsive health care services in the anesthesia practice setting to ensure patient and staff satisfaction in support of the mission and goals of the Orlando Health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare, business, or related field; or three (3) years of directly related work experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) years of directly related work experience required without bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and supporting anesthesiology team members including physicians and advanced Practice providers.
  • In cooperation with Clinical and administrative leaders, assists in development and oversight of standards compliance for the designated scope and ensures compliance of regulatory and accreditation mandates, company policies, procedures, and program, ensuring consistent application within their service line(s). Reviews and implements OH policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Assists in developing annual operational and capital clinic budget in cooperation with clinical and administrative leaders. Allocates and authorizes appropriate expenditures. Responsible for management of actual performance against budget providing analysis of material variances to Administration.
  • Maintains an effective revenue cycle and other systems to maximize revenue.
  • Responsible for accurately and efficiently accessing hospital billing and EMR systems to secure and assemble all necessary patient records for timely professional claim generation.
  • Maintainssupporting documentation of actions taken to resolve outstanding unbilled claims.
  • Works with clinical and administrative leaders to ensure appropriate staffing coverage for the covered sites of service.
  • Responsible for management of team members including recruitment, development, mentoring, retention, supervision, evaluation, and productivity.
  • Assists with the credentialing and privileging processes and procedures for all physicians and advanced practice practitioners.
  • Monitors quality and efficiency metrics and ensures they are met in the clinical setting.
  • Negotiates, communicates, and coordinates with the Service Line and other departments to implement operational changes and new initiatives
  • Interprets, ensures, and facilitates information exchange within the Service Line. Facilitates and promotes open communication within the Service Line. Analyzes and prepares appropriate responses and actions.
  • Researches, analyzes, and maintains data collection system required to administer Service Line operations.
  • Participates with Marketing and Sales Department in Service Line promotion to enhance organizational growth and becomes involved in community affairs that enhance the image of the Service Line and Orlando Health.
  • Organizes, attends, and participates in recruiting events and conferences.
  • Ensures coverage of roles during staff shortages, vacations, sick or other leaves to assure continuity in patient care.
  • Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Uses working knowledge of risk management concepts.
  • Participates in Process Improvement activities as assigned.
  • Utilizes computer programs and applications to include significant report writing, medical manager, word-processing, spreadsheets, data base and general accounting.
  • Knowledge of multi-specialty ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT coding
