About The Position

The Manager of Cardiovascular Imaging oversees the daily management of staff, fiscal resources, and quality standards for Cardiac Imaging functions. This leadership role manages and supervises Nuclear Medicine, Cardiac PET, and EKG/Cardiac Monitoring, while partnering with Radiology for Cardiac CT and MR services. Key focus areas include optimizing efficiency and workflows, ensuring adequate staffing levels, and maintaining accreditation standards such as IAC for outpatient imaging sites. The manager is also responsible for staff development, recruitment, and resolving customer service issues to ensure excellent patient care.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine program. A four-year degree in a healthcare-related field or administration is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Nuclear Medicine, including managing nuclear medicine labs, radiopharmaceuticals, and radiation safety.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in departmental quality control, state audits, case review, and maintaining accreditations.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: Registered by the NMTCB or ARRT (N). Current Basic Life Support (BLS Provider) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows) and advanced technical/clinical skills.
  • Physical/Mental Demands: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for long periods, walk at least 1 mile per day, and make fast decisions under high pressure.
  • Communication: Advanced oral and written communication skills with the ability to handle confrontations and manage altercations calmly.

Responsibilities

  • Operations & Staffing: Manage daily operations for Nuclear Medicine, PET, and EKG/Monitor sites, including hiring, scheduling, and accurate time and attendance record keeping.
  • Fiscal Management: Monitor monthly budget variances with the Director to ensure operational and salary expenses remain within approved limits.
  • Quality & Accreditation: Oversee IAC and TJC accreditation processes, perform quarterly quality assurance activities, and ensure clinical protocols meet Medical Director guidelines.
  • Leadership & Development: Direct and motivate staff, perform competency evaluations, provide coaching and disciplinary actions, and mentor supervisors for advancement.
  • Equipment & Facilities: Oversee equipment selection, installation, and maintenance; perform safety rounds and ensure all equipment inspections are current.
  • Patient & Provider Relations: Investigate and resolve patient, staff, or physician issues promptly and maintain effective communication across organizational departments.
