Requirements

  • Understanding of principles of change management and management practices.
  • Familiarity with registration systems and billing procedures.
  • Ability to interpret complex state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the staff involved in the registration of patients in the emergency room and inpatient admissions.
  • Direct the Treatment Authorization Unit and its related functions.
  • Provide leadership to ensure the success of SCVH&HS's mission and values.
  • Guide, evaluate, train, hire, and terminate subordinate supervisory staff.
  • Facilitate and participate in meetings, projects, and program development.
  • Assist customers in resolving concerns related to admissions.
  • Develop and monitor budgets for areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare departmental and unit annual goals and objectives with subordinate involvement.
  • Handle calls from staff and administration regarding admitting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant mandates and regulations.
  • Work with clinical staff to ensure adherence to admitting policies.
  • Formulate and implement policies and procedures for the department.
  • Conduct analytical studies and prepare reports on department status and needs.
  • Identify problems and collaborate with divisional representatives for solutions.
  • Analyze staffing patterns to manage peak workloads effectively.
  • Resolve complex problems and accounts related to admissions.
