About The Position

The Automotive OEM Manager serves as Roehm’s strategic ambassador to major automotive OEMs across North America, driving high‑impact partnerships and shaping the future of our materials portfolio. In this pivotal role, you will expand market share, influence product innovation, and lead cross‑functional teams to win new programs and accelerate growth. You’ll be at the center of OEM strategy, relationship-building, and next‑generation application development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Polymer Science, Engineering, Chemistry) or a non‑technical degree with proven industry experience
  • Minimum 7 years of sales, technical, marketing, OEM development, or business development experience in the plastics industry—preferably supplying the automotive sector.
  • Minimum 5 years of dedicated Automotive OEM management experience with demonstrated success securing programs and approvals.
  • Must reside within a 2‑hour drive of the Detroit metropolitan area and be able to travel approximately 50%, including occasional international trips.
  • Proven ability to lead within a heavily matrixed, cross‑functional, multicultural environment; highly self‑motivated with strong influence and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and CRM platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Build, deepen, and manage strategic relationships across assigned automotive OEMs and key Tier One suppliers, serving as Roehm’s primary commercial and technical liaison.
  • Define and execute OEM strategies—leading cross‑functional, cross‑regional teams to drive new product introductions, secure approvals, and win new programs.
  • Identify and develop new applications and business opportunities, guiding projects from concept through commercial launch at OEMs and their tiers.
  • Gather industry insights, analyze trends, and translate OEM needs into compelling business cases and product requirements.
  • Coordinate submissions, platform launch tracking, and program follow‑through in collaboration with Strategic Account Managers, Business Managers, and Distribution partners.
  • Act as a critical link to technical teams—including R&D, Innovation, and Technical Marketing—to ensure alignment and successful application development at OEMs.
  • Monitor competitive activity, deliver monthly performance reporting and KPIs, and manage travel, budget, and CRM documentation.
