About The Position

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Manager, OCI AI Data Platform (AIDP) that will serve as the platform owner for TGCS’s enterprise data lakehouse and AI/analytics environment on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. This role is responsible for the end‑to-end strategy, governance, operations, performance, and cost management of the AIDP platform, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable data services supporting analytics, AI/ML, and enterprise data products. The Manager leads cross‑functional teams in infrastructure, data engineering, governance, while partnering closely with Security, Finance, Architecture, and business domain owners. This position ensures that TGCS has a modern, well‑governed, high‑performing data foundation aligned with corporate objectives. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 8+ years of deep experience with OCI services: Data Integration, Data Flow (Spark), Object Storage, Autonomous Database/AI DB, Data Catalog, Logging/Monitoring, IAM.
  • Expert-level understanding of cloud data platforms (OCI preferred). Able to design and operate Lakehouse architectures, medallion models, and high-scale ETL/ELT workflows.
  • Deep experience with OCI services: Data Integration, Data Flow (Spark), Object Storage, Autonomous Database/AI DB, Data Catalog, Logging/Monitoring, IAM.
  • Strong competence in data engineering: schema evolution, partitioning, performance tuning, lineage, data quality frameworks, and large-scale distributed compute.
  • Advanced knowledge of AI/ML platform enablement, including model lifecycle automation, feature engineering, vector search, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
  • Skilled in CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), automated testing, observability, and SRE practices for mission-critical systems.
  • SECURITY & GOVERNANCE
  • Strong understanding of cloud security architectures, encryption, identity governance, KMS/Vault, data classification, and compliance-driven design.
  • Hands-on experience implementing enterprise governance models including cataloging, metadata, stewardship, and dataset certification.
  • COST OPTIMIZATION
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud financial governance, including budget forecasting, show back, cost allocation, tagging enforcement, anomaly detection, and optimization strategies.
  • LEADERSHIP & SOFT SKILLS
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to articulate platform topics to executives, engineers, and business partners.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, relationship management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead multi-functional teams, drive organizational change, and standardize best practices across diverse business units.

Responsibilities

  • Platform Strategy & Architecture
  • Define and own the AIDP platform roadmap, service catalog, architecture standards, and long-term evolution strategy.
  • Ensure alignment with TGCS enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and business priorities.
  • Platform Operations & Reliability (SRE/DataOps)
  • Lead SRE/DataOps operations: observability, monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and incident response for all AIDP components.
  • Oversee CI/CD automation, IaC, runtime configuration, environment provisioning, and performance tuning.
  • Data Engineering & Pipelines
  • Oversee ingestion, transformation, quality, and delivery of enterprise datasets using OCI DI, Data Flow, and Autonomous Database.
  • Maintain medallion architecture standards, enforce data quality SLAs, and manage lineage, certification, and data readiness for analytics/AI consumers.
  • Security, Compliance & Data Governance, Catalog Management
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to maintain RBAC, IAM controls, Zero Trust patterns, encryption, audit trails, and regulated data protections.
  • Ensure platform compliance with TGCS policy and industry requirements.
  • Lead integration and operation of enterprise Data Catalog including glossary, lineage, metadata, stewardship workflows, dataset certification, and governance policies.
  • AI/ML Platform Enablement
  • Provide platform capabilities for ML and AI teams, enabling model training, orchestration, monitoring, deployment, and vector-search/RAG capabilities.
  • Establish best practices for ethical, secure, and responsible AI development.
  • Cost Optimization
  • Maintain cloud financial governance, budgets, cost allocation, usage analytics, optimization recommendations, and KPI reporting.
  • Stakeholder Leadership & Communication
  • Act as liaison for business domains, communicating roadmap, KPIs, risks, milestones, and platform adoption.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment across security, finance, architecture, and analytics teams.
