Job Summary The Manager of Nursing Services will lead, support and train the nursing department in collaboration with programs statewide, to ensure excellent client care. This is a hybrid position, responsible for traveling to all regions and treatment locations statewide and is required to be on site up to 3 days per week. Requirements

  • Registered Nursing license in the state of Minnesota within good standing (and must maintain).
  • At least 5 years of relevant nursing experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Must have the ability to successfully manage multiple concurrent projects with competing deadlines and frequent interruptions, reprioritizing workflow as needed.
  • Must have the flexibility to cover the responsibility of nurses when needed ensuring proper coverage to meet program needs.
  • Strong leadership skills (one-on-one and group situations).
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including typing, word processing, spreadsheets and general familiarity with database programs.
  • Must have the ability to travel throughout the state of Minnesota to all MnTC treatment locations.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record that will be accepted by this organization’s vehicle insurance carrier.
  • Must be comfortable working with people with life-controlling challenges, including mental health and addiction.

  • At least 1 year of freedom from problematic substances.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and respond to the needs of the nursing department statewide.
  • Partner with talent acquisition to select and interview candidates for nursing positions statewide.
  • Partner with treatment director and RN supervisor to train/onboard nurses.
  • Visit all MnTC treatment locations statewide to audit processes, and provide ongoing training, development and education.
  • Consult with program leaders and RN supervisors regularly regarding client(s) physical and mental health concerns to advise on solution recommendations, as needed.
  • Partner with the director of nursing to consult with program leaders for feedback about nursing department statewide.
  • Partner with the director of nursing to design and implement changes based on program feedback.
  • Assess and implement initiatives to improve the quality of client care.
  • Ensure standardized processes in accordance with medical best-practices are implemented statewide.
  • In partnership with the treatment director, complete annual performance reviews for direct reports in the nursing department statewide.
  • Manage performance on an ongoing basis, including coaching and any correction action needed. Partner and consult with the appropriate HR business partner throughout this process.
  • Fill in if a nurse is out, to be available for the medical enhanced rate.
  • Document all nurse notes for health interactions with clients.
  • Help lead statewide nursing department staff meetings, facilitate and lead productive discussions, implementing solutions as needed.
  • Meet weekly with RN supervisor and treatment director to ensure goal alignment and integrated support.
  • Attend joint addiction services coordinator meetings with current addiction service providers to collaborate on service delivery.
  • Assist the director of nursing as liaison with addiction service providers.
  • Assist the director of nursing with medical intake assessment for new clients.
