About The Position

The Manager Night Warehouse at US Foods is responsible for leading warehouse operations during the night shift, ensuring safety, productivity, and effective team management. This role involves coaching and developing warehouse associates, overseeing workflow, and maintaining a culture of safety and engagement. The manager will also be involved in performance reviews, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse distribution required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required.
  • Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
  • Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • HACCP certification a plus.
  • PCQI certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead with a safety mindset to ensure all associates remain injury-free.
  • Champion safety procedures and training to maintain a safety-first culture.
  • Oversee and develop warehouse associates through coaching and training.
  • Discuss associate performance with Sr. Warehouse Managers and create improvement plans.
  • Maintain open communication to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Direct and supervise the productivity of warehouse associates.
  • Drive associate engagement and retention, embodying US Foods values.
  • Participate in hiring warehouse personnel alongside Sr. Warehouse Managers.
  • Review performance and coach on productivity and safety targets.
  • Lead associates to achieve accurate order staging and loading.
  • Prepare the warehouse for shipping or receiving for the next shift.
  • Monitor operational information to ensure productivity rates are met.
  • Designate dock locations for inbound carriers on day shift.
  • Ensure product is stocked according to food safety and FIFO processes.
  • Monitor replenishment activity to minimize inventory shortages.
  • Oversee will call and maintain warehouse and equipment safety.
  • Identify sources of inventory shrink and assist in action plan development.
  • Regularly inspect the facility for safety hazards and report them as needed.
  • Maintain the physical condition of the warehouse and its equipment.
  • Effectively schedule working shifts using planning tools.
