Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7 or more years in a mechanical/electrical position within critical facilities.
  • 5-7 years of experience installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems.
  • Expert understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to operate in a rigorous process-driven team environment.

  • Experience in administering and managing facility preventative maintenance programs.
  • Experience in vendor and project management.
  • Experience in technical procedure and policy writing.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the data center electrical, mechanical, fire life safety systems, and communications infrastructure.
  • Manage chilled water systems, HVAC systems, electrical/critical power distribution, and fire life safety systems.
  • Oversee vendor management and service contracts.
  • Manage all aspects of projects from conception to completion.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aimed at improving data center efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with audit requirements and company standards.
  • Train and mentor junior staff and ensure all technicians are qualified.
  • Assist in developing financial OPEX and CAPEX budgets and forecasts.
  • Create detailed technical procedures for maintenance events and emergency situations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and procurement processes.
  • Provide day-to-day exceptional customer service and support.
