About The Position

The Natural Gas Scheduling Manager oversees all day‑to‑day scheduling activities for natural gas supply, transportation, storage, and delivery across multiple pipelines and markets. This role ensures operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and commercial optimization by leading a scheduling team, managing pipeline relationships, and coordinating closely with trading, marketing, risk, and operations groups.

  • Knowledge of storage optimization, capacity management, and imbalance trading
  • Experience working with Pipelines in Appalachia and Gulf Coast
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Business, Finance, Energy Management, Engineering, or related field of study
  • Minimum: 8 years industry work experience and two years of supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all natural gas nominations, confirmations, and scheduling activities across interstate, intrastate and gathering pipelines
  • Ensure accurate and timely daily and intra‑day nominations for supply, transport, storage, and end-user deliveries
  • Manage capacity utilization, imbalances, storage injections/withdrawals, and transport optimization
  • Monitor pipeline operational notices, OFOs, constraints, weather impacts, and system conditions; communicate impacts to internal stakeholders
  • Ensure scheduling accuracy within ETRM systems and NAESB timelines and requirements
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of gas schedulers, ensuring high operational standards and reliability
  • Establish performance metrics, training programs, and process improvement initiatives
  • Provide guidance during critical operational periods (weather events, pipeline outages, high‑volume days)
  • Collaborate with trading and marketing teams to support commercial strategies and maximize asset value
  • Provide real‑time operational insights to commercial teams to support deal execution and risk management
  • Work with risk, credit, and contracts teams to reconcile flows, confirm transactions, and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure all scheduling activities adhere to FERC, pipeline tariff, and internal compliance standards.
  • Manage imbalance resolution, reporting, invoice validations, and monthly closing processes.
  • Maintain accurate operational data, logs, and audit documentation.
  • Serve as the primary operational contact with pipelines, utilities, producers, and counterparties
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships to ensure smooth operational coordination
  • Resolve operational disputes, confirmation issues, and imbalance discrepancies
