About The Position

The Manager of Milling Operations provides leadership and technical oversight for all CNC milling and support functions. Milling operations utilize advanced 5-axis CNC equipment programmed and supported through Siemens NX CAD/CAM software. This role is accountable for operational execution, team development, material utilization, documentation control, and delivery of first-quality parts on time.

  • Creation of shop-level documentation
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily 5-axis CNC milling and support operations to meet safety, quality, and schedule commitments
  • Coordinate production sequencing and priorities with cross-functional leadership
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure Siemens NX CAD/CAM best practices for programming, simulation, and revision control
  • Determine appropriate materials, machining strategies, and construction techniques per job
  • Ensure proper materials, tools, documentation, and information are available prior to execution
  • Maintain configuration control of internal and external CAD/CAM files and documentation
  • Provide shop-level documentation to support downstream finishing operations
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing parts to ensure quality standards are met
  • Recruit, onboard, train, develop, and hold team members accountable
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Kaizen, CAR, and 5S methodologies
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all milling equipment and workplace organization
  • Pattern, nest, program, and cut all materials supporting TDC tooling operations including but not limited to nonskid, templates and gauges, and core materials
