Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/innovative-medicine The Manager, Medical Communications provides scientific knowledge expertise to author & review customer materials for use in response to unsolicited medical requests, as well as review promotional, medical, or sales materials for medical accuracy.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy is required
  • A minimum of 2 years of drug information/medical information or comparable experience within the health care/clinical/hospital environment is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct literature analysis is required.
  • Experience developing responses to scientific inquiries from healthcare professionals and/or consumers is required.
  • Project management experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • PharmD or PhD degree is highly preferred.
  • A Drug Information or clinical residency/fellowship is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Will be the key contact for provision of Medical Communications – Develops and reviews medical scientific response documents in support of customer needs.
  • Will review content & develop strategic concepts – Provides medical guidance for development and review of promotional, medical, or sales training materials.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary therapeutic area teams to contribute to the functional strategic plan in support of the therapeutic area.
  • Leverages clinical knowledge and expertise to direct the review and identification of emerging trends and scientific intelligence, meaningful for each audience.
  • Will conduct in-depth data analysis – Monitors the medical literature for operating company products and competitor data; analyzes the information for accuracy/relevance and notifies key partners.
  • Will manage Medical Communications projects – Supports new product launches. Develops tools and innovative approaches for creative delivery of information.
  • Will develop teams’ therapeutic knowledge – Provides initial and ongoing training of new hires and students/fellows. Supports sales training initiatives and actively partners with the Medical Information Scientific Engagement (MISE) team to help provide therapeutic area and product training and assist with analysis of voice of customer data to identify unmet needs/data gaps.
