About The Position

The Materials Manager reports directly to the Director of Materials Management. The Materials Manager will manage and supervise up to a group of 15 employees 24x7. The Materials Manager will manage and have responsibility for control of all critical inventory within the hospital. Monitors the receipt and delivery of supplies throughout the hospital. In addition, the Materials Manager acts as a key member on Strategic Improvement and Strategic Sourcing project teams throughout Premier Health entities. The Materials Manager will also oversee the management of all supplies for Key Clinical areas (Radiology, Cath Lab. & Surgery/SPD), both owned and Consignment, maintaining inventory values of up to approximately $3 million in each area. Responsible for departmental expenses, revenue, budget, and communicates with other departments as needed. Manages department annual budget of more than $2,500,000. Manages and directs Supervisors, Inventory Control Coordinators, Logistic Supply Specialist and Clinical Logistic Supply Specialist in the clinical areas. Responsible for supplying entire hospital (over 50 areas) with all inventory and supply items. Maintain 98% inventory and supply items. Manages inventory assets of over $450,000. Knowledge and expertise in Lawson MMIS for all areas and knowledge and expertise in the management of all Lawson reports pertaining to material management and the management of all supplies. The Materials Manager will have 24/7 responsibility to the department to respond to any needs as they may arise. Distributes over 4,500,000 items annually. Manages inventory within the warehouse (500 plus items valued @ $400,000) and cart level (12,000 items valued @ $1,000,000) of 70 PAR locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; In lieu of degree, 2 years of experience is required.
  • 1 - 3 years of job-related experience.
  • Two (2) years of supervisor/manager experience in materials & inventory management is required.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Computer skills including Materials Management Information Systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication (oral/written) skills.

  • Supply Chain Certifications preferred.
