About The Position

The Manager, Materials Management is a strategic leader responsible for ensuring material availability and cost predictability across global supply chains. This role drives high-impact initiatives in contract reconciliation, supplier relationship management, and risk mitigation, enabling Hershey to maintain operational continuity and deliver on production commitments. Success in this position requires advanced analytical capability, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across Procurement, Finance, and Manufacturing. The Manager will lead efforts to optimize supply chain efficiency, enforce compliance with commodity agreements, and deliver measurable business outcomes such as cost savings, risk reduction, and improved Purchase Price Variance forecasting accuracy

Requirements

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software (SAP preferred).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Minimum 5 years in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Procurement or related fields
  • Proven success in contract reconciliation and supplier management within a global, matrixed organization.

  • Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Desirable)

Responsibilities

  • Contract Reconciliation Leadership: Own reconciliation efforts for cocoa and commodity suppliers; resolve supplier discrepancies across multiple contract types.
  • Supplier Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with top suppliers to ensure compliance and alignment on contractual terms.
  • Cost Predictability & Forecasting: Support purchase price variance forecasts based on contract balances and market positions; provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Identify and mitigate risks by monitoring market trends and supplier contract balances; provide insights to leadership for proactive decision-making.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with Procurement, Materials Management peers and Finance to align on strategic material needs and initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance reconciliation accuracy, streamline workflows, and reduce cycle times.
