Position Summary Vertiv is seeking a Manager, Material Planning to support the Americas region and lead a team of Material Planners. This team plays a critical role in ensuring Vertiv’s material plans are fully aligned with factory requirements and operational needs.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, industrial engineering, economics, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • relevant experience in materials management, inventory management and project / program management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organization.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in inventory and materials management.
  • Strong analytical skills are needed to be able to collect, analyze, and interpret data related to the materials organization. Should be able to identify patterns, trends, and issues in the data, and use that information to inform decision-making.
  • Strong experience in data modeling, visualization, and storytelling.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into business insights.
  • Able to adapt to changing business needs and priorities and be willing to learn new skills and technologies as needed.
  • Detail-oriented, curious, and proactive problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.

  • Desirable a master's degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier Collaboration: Assess supplier commitments to Vertiv’s forecast to identify potential constraints, and incorporate these constraints into Vertiv’s SIOP process to ensure full visibility and understanding.
  • Evaluate supplier commitments to Vertiv’s purchase orders to identify gaps and communicate them to the purchasing and procurement teams.
  • Partner with internal Vertiv teams and suppliers to ensure supplier PO confirmations align with Vertiv’s requirements.
  • Review supplier production schedules to ensure alignment with Vertiv’s demand and delivery needs.
  • Monitor supplier stocking programs to ensure compliance with defined program requirements.
  • Assess Tier 2 risks within the supply base and collaborate with Procurement to drive initiatives that reduce exposure and strengthen Vertiv’s supply continuity.
  • Monitor supplier adherence to committed lead times to identify instances where performance falls short and address gaps proactively.
  • Inventory Management Identify excess and obsolete (E&O) risk as changes to bills of material, production schedules, and plant allocations are implemented.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop team members to build capability and ensure succession readiness.
  • Process & Capability Building Problem Solving: Conduct deep-dive trend and root cause analyses to identify improvement opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with Planning, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance and Procurement to align on underlying root causes and actions plans.
  • Reporting: Develop and maintain reports and visualizations to track KPIs and business performance.
  • Communication: Create summaries and presentations on performance, trends, and actionable insights for stakeholders.
