The Manager of Managed File Transfer (MFT) is responsible for leading a team of MFT administrators and specialists, overseeing the operations of the IBM Sterling File Gateway and other MFT solutions. This role focuses on ensuring the performance, security, and compliance of file transfer processes while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of MFT administrators and specialists.
  • Set team objectives, monitor performance, and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IBM Sterling File Gateway and other MFT solutions.
  • Ensure the availability, performance, and security of MFT platforms.
  • Manage and resolve incidents, problems, and service requests related to file transfers.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, data governance, and industry standards.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated file transfer workflows to meet business requirements.
  • Monitor file transfers for failures, delays, or security issues, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to establish file transfer protocols.
  • Manage encryption, authentication, and secure file transfer processes.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize file transfer processes for efficiency and scalability.
  • Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and best practices in MFT.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical guides.
  • Work closely with business units, IT teams, and external partners to understand file transfer requirements.
  • Ensure clear communication and alignment on file transfer projects and priorities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalations related to MFT issues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in MFT platforms, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Strong expertise in IBM Sterling File Gateway and related IBM MFT tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, AS2, etc.) and encryption standards.
  • Experience with automation, scripting, and enterprise integration.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes and incident management best practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels.
  • Certifications in IBM Sterling products or MFT-related technologies.
  • Experience in cloud-based MFT solutions or hybrid environments.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
