Description / Scope / Mission The Plant Maintenance Manager is responsible for the governance and execution of the plant’s maintenance system, including the preparation and revision of Autonomous Maintenance (AM) documentation and training, the scheduling and performance of Preventive Maintenance (PM) for all manufacturing equipment and processes, and the ordering and inventory management of MRO spares, consumables, and critical parts. The role also oversees the maintenance of facility and utility equipment essential to safe, complaint and reliable plant operations. Day-to-day breakdown repair of production machinery is excluded from the scope of this role and remains the responsibility of the Value Stream Managers and their maintenance technicians. The Maintenance Manager ensures that appropriate standards, documentation, spare parts, and planning systems are in place to support sustained equipment reliability and operational performance through preventative maintenance strategy.

Requirements

  • University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Typically, 7+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, engineering, or reliability roles within manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in Preventive Maintenance planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Experience preparing and managing Autonomous Maintenance documentation and training.
  • Proven experience in MRO/spares management and warehouse control.
  • Experience maintaining facility and utility systems and coordinating statutory inspections.
  • Familiarity with CMMS or SAP PM modules and maintenance planning tools.
  • Knowledge of Preventive and Autonomous Maintenance methodologies, documentation formats, and training practices.
  • Understanding of MRO supply chain processes, spare part criticality, min/max levels, reorder logic, and inventory practices.
  • Working knowledge of utilities and facility systems (e.g., HVAC, compressed air, steam/chilled water, electrical distribution).
  • Ability to interpret equipment manuals, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Awareness of safety and regulatory requirements associated with maintenance activities and facility systems.
  • Team builder with the ability to engage and motivate at all levels of the organization.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and relentless in driving improvements and sustaining results.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Fluent in English (other languages are an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, revise, and control Autonomous Maintenance (AM) documentation including cleaning, inspection, lubrication (CIL) standards, basic condition checklists, and escalation rules.
  • Coordinate and deliver AM training for operators, Value Stream Supervisors, and Value Stream Managers, ensuring clarity of roles and compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Develop, schedule, and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks for all manufacturing equipment and processes within the plant.
  • Define PM task content, frequencies, materials, and required tools based on OEM recommendations, criticality, and operational experience.
  • Coordinate PM execution with production planning to minimize impact on manufacturing output.
  • Maintain accurate PM records and history in CMMS/SAP and adjust PM content and frequency based on performance feedback and chronic issues.
  • Manage the ordering, stock control, and warehouse management of MRO spare parts, consumables, lubricants, and critical spares.
  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts to support both breakdown repairs (carried out by technicians reporting to Value Stream Supervisors) and PM/servicing tasks.
  • Maintain asset master data, PM plans, bills of materials (BOMs), and spare part lists within CMMS/SAP.
  • Produce routine maintenance performance reports and metrics (e.g., PM compliance, critical spare status, MRO stock levels).
  • Oversee maintenance and servicing of facility and utility equipment, including HVAC, compressed air, steam/chilled water systems, electrical distribution, water treatment, and fire protection systems.
  • Coordinate statutory and insurance-mandated inspections, tests, and certifications for facility and utility equipment.
  • Ensure maintenance documentation and PM/AM standards comply with site safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with EHS, CI/TPM, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure safe execution, proper budget management, and alignment with plant priorities.
  • Support structured problem-solving and chronic loss elimination efforts by providing technical analysis, maintenance data, and PM insights without assuming responsibility for day-to-day repairs.
