About The Position

Manages and coordinates preventative/reactive maintenance and continuous improvement activities. Supervises the planning and implementation of capital expenditures and plant projects involving maintenance, repair, and construction regarding plant equipment, buildings, and grounds. May oversee the design and construction of new facilities or the modification of existing structures.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Facilities Management or related disciplines or years of experience equivalent preferred and equivalent background considered.
  • Equivalent background would involve a minimum of eight years in high volume manufacturing plant, maintenance, and machine operations experience with progressive responsibility.
  • Eight years or more of industrial maintenance supervisory or similar leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong preventive maintenance development experience, familiarity with reliability centered maintenance principles preferred.
  • Demonstrates strong financial business acumen.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team oriented and able to interact with people at all levels and departments.
  • Excellent problem solving and leadership skills.
  • Detail oriented and excellent documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Ability to report information in context and at a level that allows decisions to be made.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of 5S, lean manufacturing or 6-Sigma principles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Facility/Maintenance, Automation and IT teams and activities.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of major maintenance projects, including assisting in day-to-day maintenance functions if required.
  • Maintains plant data service records.
  • Recommends, as required, the change, expansion, and replacement of machinery and equipment. Establishes cost estimates for the purpose of capital replacement.
  • Accepts responsibility for preventive maintenance programs and implementation of applicable plant and governmental safety regulations pertaining to equipment and facilities.
  • Maintains plant structures and services efficiently and economically and with as little interruption to production as possible.
  • Assists in costing, planning acquisitions and installation of new production equipment.
  • Directs operations of sub-contractors on structural and mechanical work, ensuring that high technical, economical and safety standards are maintained.
  • Research new methods and materials on an ongoing basis to ensure that the best possible solutions to facility engineering problems are reached and that economical and efficient methods are being used.
  • Completes other projects, duties, and tasks as assigned.
