The position involves overseeing, planning, and issuing work orders to appropriate shift team members for the implementation of equipment modifications, as well as preventative and corrective maintenance. The role requires close collaboration with manufacturing departments to ensure that production equipment is consistently maintained and that all preventative maintenance (PM) schedules are met in a timely manner. The individual will prepare and coordinate maintenance resources and provide recommendations for capital and continuous improvement projects. Additionally, the position entails reviewing the operation of equipment with appropriate personnel to identify maintenance issues related to Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, and Customer Satisfaction. The goal is to track and improve machine downtime, increase machine reliability, and support manufacturing to meet customer demand. Compliance with health and safety policies is crucial, ensuring that all equipment is properly safeguarded. The role also involves developing and implementing maintenance procedures that are trackable and accountable to maximize the efficiency of the maintenance department. Managing relationships with contractors and service providers, tracking, analyzing, and improving the Maintenance department’s KPIs, and reviewing the location’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to make recommendations for improving plant operations and maintenance problem resolution are key responsibilities. Engaging employees in problem resolution to improve production issues and efficiencies using Lean Manufacturing techniques is essential. The individual will foster a positive working environment and drive the Maintenance team to meet productivity targets and performance standards. Monthly monitoring and reviewing of the Maintenance budget, ensuring regulatory compliance with various governmental agencies, driving cost savings through equipment repairs and upgrades, and ensuring that Maintenance employees are properly trained are also part of the role. The position may require maintaining facility compliance with all municipal, state/provincial, and federal fire and safety codes, including testing and inspections of the fire protection system. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
