  • Performing buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence for private equity groups and corporate clients
  • Analyzing tax risks of target companies using tax returns, accounting information, and interviews with management
  • Reviewing and analyzing reports correlating tax diligence and tax structuring findings with client valuations
  • Identifying issues affecting purchase price, deal structure, or deal termination
  • Reading and advising clients with respect to purchasing agreements
  • Recommending post-acquisition actions to achieve tax efficiency and minimize tax risks
  • Working closely with executives, investment bankers, private equity and corporate clients, attorneys, or other stakeholders
  • Working alongside other Forvis Mazars team members to exceed client expectations
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college/university
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in corporate or partnership tax or M&A transaction tax from a large public accounting or consulting firm
  • Strong current knowledge of U.S. federal income tax, mergers, and acquisitions, and transaction services
  • Recent experience with corporate and pass-through tax concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and PowerPoint
  • JD or master's degree in taxation preferred
  • CPA license or admission to state bar preferred
  • Current knowledge of state and local tax is a plus
  • Extensive analytical and project management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with corporate and flow-through concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop relationships with both team members and external clients
